15th July 2009 – Lesson 5
18 July 2009
Before today’s lesson start, Ms. Suma announced the result of our negotiation test on last lesson by calling us one by one to the front and told us our weakness during the test. I knew that I did not perform well during the test and I’ve expected I’ll get a low marks on it. My result was really in my expectations. I only scored 9 out of 20 marks for the negotiation test. I was quite disappointed on my performance on that day but anyway, it had already past.
We’ve learned about emotional intelligence on today’s lesson. There are eight types of emotion – anger, sadness, fear, enjoyment, love, surprise, disgust and shame. After that, Ms. Suma wanted us to join in our group and discuss about other emotions that we used to have in our daily life. My group had thought about 20 plus emotions. Ms. Suma also wanted us to do the emotional intelligence assessment and I only managed to score a total of 35 points. We were also given a piece of paper – The Appraisal which was the example of a script. Ms. Suma told us that we have an assignment on writing a script and she went through the paper and explained to us the important points in writing a good script.
After that, Ms. Suma wanted us to form a group of two for an activity again, and this time my partner was Stefanus. Stefanus became Partner A and his role was to tell me a story which can make me shocked. He told me the story by writing it into a piece of paper and I had a big reaction after I saw the paper that he wrote to me – “I like you from the first time we knew each other”. Although I knew it wasn’t a fact, but I just can’t control myself. My face straight away turned into red and the worst thing was everyone was looking at us. I was so shy.
After that, the role of Partner B was to console Partner A based on the situation they told us just now. So I told Stefanus that it would be better for us to stay as friend because I’ve already had a boy friend.
