24th June 2009 – Lesson 2
27 June 2009
More and more students were attending for this lesson. The class immediately became so lively, bustling with noise and excitement. I really had no idea how Ms. Suma gonna control this class. While waiting for others to come into the class, Ms. Suma told us that we’re going to play games during this lesson. All of us were wondering what kind of games she gonna let us play. Ms. Suma told us that this game was useful for our negotiation test, which will be held on next week and will be conducted by the ECU lecturer – Ms. Linda. The game started after all the students had settled down.
This game called the two dollar game. We were required to find a partner, sitting face to face to play for this game. We were asked to play as either person 1 or person 2 roles. So my first partner was Huiru and I took on person 2 role. My aim for this round was to make up a story in order to get as much of the $2 as I can. So I made up a story about the promotion of $2 for 2 pieces of Chewy Junior puff sold in Bugis Junction because I knew that Huiru’s boy friend likes it. So I told her about the promotion and asked her for money to help her buy the puff whilst Huiru told me about there’s a $2 laptop case sold in the $2 shop and she asked me for money to help me get it. But I told her I have had it already and finally I was the winner in this round.
My second and third partner was Kelvin and I took on the person 1 role. My aim for this round was to win at least $1.30 or above. So my story was I helped Kelvin’s bought his favourite biscuits from my hometown and asked him for money. But then Kelvin told me that he needs that money urgent because he had to make an urgent phone call to his country. So I agreed with that because I think the phone call is more important than the biscuits. So I just gave it to him as souvenir from my hometown. I was still the person 1 on the third round and this time my aim was to get as much of the $2 as possible. We had no idea to tell story anymore. So end up we made a bet and whoever win the bet will straight away get the $2 and finally I lost for this round again and that’s all for today’s game. Before Ms. Suma dismissed the class, she asked us to copy down some important notes which might be important for our coming negotiation test in the weekend.
